Water Consumption Charging

If your property is ‘water wise’ then you can pass the full water consumption costs onto the tenant, as long as it is written into their lease.

Here is how it works:

If a property is not individually metered the tenant cannot be charged for water consumption even if the property is water compliant.  When a property is individually metered and  if the property is compliant and the tenant’s lease is correctly written then the owner passes on the water consumption charges to the tenant and just pays for the access charges.
