Description: Gorgeous Queenslander style cottage with 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, renovated kitchen and rear deck on 415m2. Located in inner city Windsor, walk to the train station and short commute to the the girls work place.
At the end of 2021, my sister and I decided to step into the property market together and buy our first house. We had initially begun the search by ourselves but found it overwhelming and difficult as we had little experience. We were unsure on what houses might be suitable for us and what would be in our price range. Additionally, we were both working full time and weren’t always able to make open homes.
It was a very difficult market and houses were selling very quickly. We thought that having somebody with experience and providing insight into the market would prove worthwhile. We also had friends who recommended the service and had great things to say about buyer’s agents.
We began our search with Property Pursuit in Jan 2022 and bought our house at auction in August 2022. The house we ended up buying was the one we had liked the most throughout the search and ticked all our boxes. Using the service alleviated a lot of our anxiety about the search and process, and we were able to find a house that suited us relatively quickly. We know many people who had very protracted searches and we were glad that wasn’t us. We were also thankful to get in the market when we did.
Additionally, we also went to two other auctions during our search. Although we were unsuccessful, it was great to go through the process and have that experience. Nathan was able to keep us calm and informed throughout the process. The main feature of the service that we liked the best were the weekly emails from Nathan with houses for sale that he thought would suit us. He sent us links to the online listings, a basic overview of the house, area and amenities, price estimates and open house times. This really streamlined the search for us – we were able to look at Nathan’s suggestions and see which houses we would like to go view. This meant we weren’t wasting our weekends/ weeknights going to houses that wouldn’t suit us or would be out of our price range.
We were able to make suggestions of things we had seen during our own online searches, and he would make further enquiries for us. Also, if we were unable to make open home viewings, Nathan would go along and take detailed photos of the house that we were then able to take time during the week to look at. If we liked a property, Nathan would then do a more detailed report for us. He would go through the Building and Pest report, noting any things that would need to be looked at in the immediate / short term and things that might need fixing in the future. He often spoke to the agents on our behalf and would enquire about submitting offers prior to auction.
My sister and I would have unlikely been this proactive on our own, so this was very valuable for us.
1. Great communication – Nathan was very communicative. We had many questions during the search, and it was great to have someone in our corner who would explain things to us and keep us informed at every step of the buying process.
2. Assistance at auction – This service was very helpful for us – my sister and I were not keen or confident in potentially bidding at auctions. We weren’t sure what price to start at, when to bid or how to bid. Nathan bidding for us alleviated that anxiety and pressure. He was able to explain how he would bid and what was happening in the background as well.
3. Step by step help post-auction – once we were successful at auction, Nathan and the team at Property Pursuit sent us an email with the tasks we needed to complete prior to settlement and a timeline for when things were due. This made the process much easier as we were confident nothing had been overlooked. The team also recommended a great solicitor that was able to help with the conveyancing process.
I have already recommended Nathan and Property Pursuit to friends and family. The whole service was incredibly helpful. Nathan’s assistance was invaluable – he is professional, communicative and has a wealth of experience. For us, the service was well worth it. Nathan sent us new listings every week that were suited to our wants and was always quick to show us something he thought we might be interested in.
